The Platinum Anniversary of GKA

On September 13, 2014, we celebrated the Global Korea Award (GKA)'s Pratinum Anniversary; commemorating 20 years of excellence!

The GKA was created by the Council at Michigan University in 1995 to recognize individuals or groups who have made a significant contribution of cross-cultural understanding, global education, and wll-being of Korean people around the world. Duirng the past 20 years, total 73 individuals and organizations were awarded. They included 7 politicians/diplomats, 2 artists, 8 medical missionaries, 16 businessmen, and 37 educators. They flew not only from all over the states in the U.S., but also from Korea, Phillippines, Russia, Germany, Uganda, and Uzbekistan.
