The First Korean Night


Our first Annual Korean Night was held on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 with the generous support of the Asian Studies Center and Department of Linguistics and Germanic, Slavic, Asian and African Languages. This event featured Korean food, a silent auction, raffle, and cultural performances, including Taekwondo demonstration (by Chung's Taekwondo), Children's singing (by Hanmaeum Korean Language School children), Gayagum & Marimba performance of Arirang (by Ms. Oksun Kim & Ms. Teresa Myall), fashion show (by Korean Student Organization & Korean-American Student Association), and Korean traditional dance (by Ms. Choo Young Lee). The Korean Food were generously donated by local restaurants, including Bulgogi, Charlie Kang's, Dae Jang Geum, Emo's, Omi Sushi, Teriyaki & Gyro. Funds raised at the event went toward further building the Korean program at MSU and supporting efforts to establish a Korean major at MSU in the future.
